CINCINNATI HOCKEY ACADEMY (CHA) FEE AND REFUND POLICY - revised 11/1/21

 

TRYOUT REGISTRATION FEES: This fee is non-refundable even if a player is unable to attend any tryout.

 

ALL OTHER PROGRAMS (SPRING, SUMMER, CAMPS OR TOURNAMENT TEAMS AND ANY OTHER PAID PROGRAMS): Payment for any non-fall/winter program requires payment in full at the time of registration and all fees are nonrefundable.

 

Payments must be made via Venmo, money order or certified check. We do not accept personal checks. All payments must be made payable to Cincinnati Hockey Academy and mailed to Cincinnati Hockey Academy, 8072 Cabinet Circle, Cincinnati, OH 45244

 

An individual player's team costs are based on estimated total cost of all team expenses divided by the set number of players per team. This includes ice purchased by the team, uniforms, equipment, team parties, hospitality rooms, hotel rooms and other costs.

 

To spread the cost out for FALL/WINTER TEAMS, a payment schedule will be established with full payment submitted by October 1st of each season.

- TEAM Deposit $500 Due 5 days following team invitation acceptance

- 1st Installment 25% July 1st

- 2nd Installment 25% August 1st

- 3rd Installment 25% September 1st

- Final Installment 25% October 1st

 

CHA FALL/WINTER TEAMS: Refunds (minus a 5% administration fee) may be requested up until placement on a team. Leaving the club after being placed on a team results in forfeiture of initial deposit amount. No refunds (or transfers) will be given for the initial team deposit which signifies a skater’s acceptance of a spot on a team. Any additional payments made will be refunded only in the case where a skater relocates outside the greater Cincinnati area (more than 100 miles) or is unable to participate due to injury substantiated by a doctor and results in player missing more than 90 days of the season. In the case of relocation or injury, the amount of the refund will be determined by Cincinnati Hockey Academy generally based on a prorated calculation of the total costs and the timing of the refund request. All relocation and injury refund requests must be in writing to the Cincinnati Hockey Academy Administrative Assistant.

 

The date Cincinnati Hockey Academy receives written notice is the date that will be utilized for the proration of fees (less the tryout/registration fee and the initial team payment as outlined above). For all other reasons all fees are non-refundable. No portion of any other fee paid or payable by a player rostered to play for Cincinnati Hockey Academy will be refunded (or forgiven if unpaid). A player is considered rostered when the player is selected for a team and submits their Team Deposit. For injured players, refunds will be in the form of a credit to be applied to future registration fees and travel tuitions. The credit can only be applied to the account of the impacted player or immediate family member.

 

CHA will consider, at its sole discretion, a request for a “special exception” refund or forgiveness of fees (other than Tryout Fees) based on extraordinary circumstances. Please note that deciding not to play in the CHA Program, removal from a team, or to play at another program, is not considered an extraordinary circumstance warranting a “special exception” refund.
